Success! Such as it is…

Published by jensplace at 7:56 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Today B had his first day in the new day care.  To my complete surprise, he did not fuss or argue one bit when I told him we were going to the new day care.  I was ready for a big fight on that one–maybe he wasn’t as attached to the old place as I thought he was.

I waited by my phone with baited breath all day, but no calls!  When I went to pick him up I learned he had napped half the morning, so that explains part of the good day.  He had a good afternoon with the school age teacher, too.

The director informed me he only hit one teacher today.  That teacher did not seem too bothered by it, either.  She just shrugged as if kids hitting her was a daily occurrence.  Maybe it is?  I always laugh a little when I get comments like that.  How many parents of 9 year olds are happy when their child only hits one teacher in the course of a day?  Autism certainly gives me a slightly different perspective on life sometimes.

Hopefully he won’t hit anyone tomorrow.  I’m tagging this post “hitting”.  I really hope I don’t end up with very many posts with that tag, though!

Oh yay! Hoping you don’t end up with many “hitting” tags either. Maybe you’ll even be able to add a “best thing ever” tag. That would be wonderful :-D
